Online and offline prescription software, when handwriting is the problem

· Sudiptta Apu

The counter did not hear you. softhubd keeps that dose in letters, on your own pad, and the visit does not stop when the connection does.

The instruction has to survive the room

A doctor can explain a dose perfectly and still send the patient out with a page that will be misread. The voice stays in the chamber. The page goes to the pharmacy, to the kitchen, and to the person who will give the medicine at night when nobody is there to ask. Online prescription software and offline prescription software are useful here for one narrow reason. They let the instruction be letters on the pad you already use, and they let that same page exist again when the paper is gone. They do not replace the decision. softhubd is that kind of page for a chamber in Bangladesh. You write. The letters stay readable because they were typed, and they sit on your own pad instead of on a strange form the counter has never seen.

The problem this solves is the gap between what you chose and what a stranger can read. It does not solve a wrong choice. If the medicine was the wrong medicine, clear type will still say the wrong medicine. What softhubd keeps intact is the name you picked, the strength on that row, the dose in words, and the number of days. A seller who can read that does not have to guess the tail of a digit.

What online prescription software is doing in the visit

Online, here, means the writing page in the browser. Login opens that page. Name, age, sex, weight, and date go on first. Sex can be male, female, or third gender. A junior can leave the history ready. You still decide what is printed.

Complaints, history, examination, diagnosis, tests, and advice are ordinary fields. A line you type today is offered back tomorrow. Two letters are often enough to see the match. You click when it is the right line for this person, and you leave it when it is only close. Nothing sits on the pad until that click. Online prescription software, in this chamber, is that memory plus the print. It does not finish the page while you are still talking.

Bangla and English both work. The writing follows the language you pick. Doses can be morning, noon, and night, every few hours, several times a day, or drops per minute into a vein. If you type the dose in Banglish, it becomes Bangla as you go, so the words on the paper are the words you already say. A pharmacy reading “সকালে এক চামচ, খাবারের পর, পাঁচ দিন” is not decoding a private mark. They are reading a sentence.

Offline, when the line at the door does not care about the connection

Chambers do not get to pause because the internet paused. Offline prescription software, for softhubd, means the work in the room continues when the connection drops. Patients and medicines you have already opened on this computer stay at hand. You can still write the prescription. When the connection comes back, the work you saved goes on. This is not a promise that a brand-new catalogue search will behave as if the cable never failed. It is the smaller, useful promise: the visit in front of you does not stop because the router did.

That matters on the afternoons when the pen gets faster because the room is still full. A page that waits for the cloud sends you back to that pen, and the unreadable sheet comes back with it.

The pad the counter already trusts

Patients and neighbourhood pharmacies already know a pad: the colour, the logo, the corner where the seal sits. softhubd asks for the PDF or the photo of the paper you print on now. You move the blank edge in millimetres so the writing misses the letterhead. The size can be A4, A5, or the pad itself. The logo stays where the press put it.

The signature and the seal are part of that sheet. PNG or JPEG. A clear PNG stays clear. Drag the mark, or set the place in millimetres, once, before the rush. The next patient should not make you place it again. If the morning clinic and the evening chamber use different paper, pick the chamber first. That chamber’s pad opens, with its own margins. The morning logo does not catch the evening lines. A monthly pack is one doctor: Basic is 2 chambers, Standard is 5, Premium is 10. Buying once, for more than one doctor, is a separate price, and you ask it on the demo rather than reading a number invented here.

Clear type on the pad the pharmacy has been reading for years is the same instruction, in the place they already look.

Search, so the bottle matches the row you meant

Handwriting errors are not only about messy letters. Two products can share a name and still be a syrup and a drop, or 5 mg and 50 mg. If the hand does not separate them, the shelf will. The catalogue in softhubd has about 72,000 rows of medicines and supplies. You search by the brand, the group, or the company. The row shows the group, the company, and the price, so you can see which bottle you are about to choose. The price is for your eye. It stays off the printed page unless that chamber turns it on. The default is off. Company and group stay off the print the same way. The patient does not need your private hint. They need the name and the dose.

If the name is missing, type it on. It is kept, and a later search can find it. A fever of 100 or more mentions a search for Paracetamol. It does not add the tablet, the syrup, or the drop. You click, then you set the dose and the days. The software is not choosing the treatment. It is holding similar names apart so the one you click is the one that gets printed in full letters.

When they leave before the ink would have dried

Some visits end in the corridor. The child is crying. The rickshaw is outside. The print is still a promise. The same laid-out page can become a JPG or a PDF. On a phone, the share sheet lets you put that file into WhatsApp. On a computer, the file downloads and you attach it to the chat or to an email. softhubd does not open the chat and does not send the message. You choose the person. The mobile number on the visit is for finding them later. It is not printed on the page they will photograph and forward through a family group.

A file of a typed page is a sentence, not a photo of a scribble. Next time, the visit opens by name, by mobile, or by the ID, something like 0042. You see the dose you chose. You keep it or you change it because the person changed, not because the old sheet was a blur.

What this will not fix, said plainly

There is no message sent to the patient at the end. There is no voice that writes while you talk. There is no television in the waiting room. Drugs are not checked against each other. ICD codes are not filled in. A fee is not collected inside the visit, and bKash or Nagad is not taken automatically from the prescription. If those are the job you need, this is the wrong product, and it is better to know that before the first patient.

The monthly packs are paid. Basic is 500 saved prescriptions for ৳1,000. Standard is 1,000 for ৳2,000. Premium is 2,000 for ৳3,000. What you do not use stays: buy 500, use 200, and 300 remains. The doctor on a monthly pack is recognised when the name and the degree match closely. Domain and hosting can be separate. The free part is the demo: two prescriptions at no cost, with a live print, in a new tab. Write them on your own pad, in your own Bangla dose, and make one file you attach yourself. That is how you see whether the counter can read you.

Dr. Abul Kalam Azad, a child specialist at Sufia Memorial in Bagerhat, uses the software and tells other doctors. One chamber is one true example. It is not a crowd. The page you should trust is the one you print yourself.

Will online prescription software write the visit for me?

No. You write. Older lines come back as suggestions and sit on the pad only when you click.

What happens if the internet stops mid-chamber?

The work continues with the patients and medicines already opened on that computer. Saved work goes on when the connection returns.

Does the pharmacy get a message from softhubd?

No. They get your pad, or a JPG or PDF you attached yourself.

Is the whole product free?

The demo is two prescriptions at no cost, with a live print. The monthly packs are paid.
