Giving the prescription file on WhatsApp

The file is the prescription, the chat is yours

When the patient cannot wait for paper, you still want them to leave with the same page: your pad, your seal, the dose, the tests. softhubd makes a JPG or a PDF of that laid-out page. It does not open WhatsApp, it does not know which family group to use, and it does not send the message. On a phone the share sheet is where you choose the chat and add the file. On a computer the file downloads, and you attach it in WhatsApp or in email. If you skip that last step, nothing has been sent. That is intentional. A prescription should not leave the room because a button was next to the print button.

The layout matters. A plain text message drops the seal and the letterhead, and the pharmacy then trusts a forwarded paragraph. The file keeps the page you would have printed. If the seal is a clear PNG, it is clear in the file too. If the margins were set for this chamber, the file uses those margins. You are not making a second, uglier version for the phone.

What travels, and what should stay

The mobile number on the visit is how you find the person later. It is not inside the JPG and it is not inside the PDF. People photograph prescriptions and drop them into groups. The number does not need to go with the photograph. The patient’s name, age, date, medicines, and advice are the page. Group, company, and price stay off unless that chamber turned them on. Default off. You already used the price to pick the row. The parent does not need it in the chat.

Email is the same file, not a different product. Some patients want a mailbox instead of a chat. You attach the download. There is no mailbox inside softhubd waiting to send on a schedule. There is no SMS either. If the chamber’s habit is a text that says “your prescription is ready”, this software does not send that text. It makes the file. You decide who receives it.

When they reply with a photo of the old file

Next month they may come back with the chat still on the phone. You do not treat that image as the record to edit. Open the visit by name, mobile, or the ID, such as 0042, and write today’s page from the saved visit. Copy the old prescription if it helps, then change what changed. The file they already have is that day’s copy. Editing today’s visit does not rewrite the picture in their gallery. If you need them to hold the new page, you make a new file and you send that one.

A junior can prepare the visit. They should not send the file from your phone without you looking. Final means you have seen the page. A draft shared by mistake is how the wrong dose reaches a pharmacy. Mark it final, then share. The share sheet will not know the difference. You will.

Phone, computer, and the demo

The evening chamber on a handset uses the same page as the desktop. There is no separate WhatsApp app to install inside softhubd, because softhubd is not WhatsApp. Write, save, create the file, switch to the chat, attach. Two free prescriptions on the demo are enough to try that path once, including the live print if you want to compare paper and file. The monthly packs — ৳1,000, ৳2,000, ৳3,000 — do not add an automatic sender. Buying once does not add one either. If someone promises the software will message the patient for you, they are describing a feature this product does not have.

A share you can undo only by sending another file

WhatsApp does not let softhubd reach into a chat and replace a picture. Once you have attached the JPG, the correction is a second file and a sentence: ignore the previous one. That is why the habit is to look at the preview, mark the visit final, and only then open the share sheet. A draft shared from a junior’s handset is the usual way a half-written dose arrives at a pharmacy. The software cannot tell the share sheet that the page was a draft. Final is a word for you, not a lock on the phone.

On a computer the same caution looks like a download folder. Do not attach the file from yesterday because it is sitting at the top of the list. Today’s file has today’s time. If you are unsure, make the file again from the open visit. It takes less time than a phone call from the pharmacy.

Who should receive it

The file can go to the patient, to a parent, or to an email address they trust. It should not go to a public status, and the product will not post it anywhere. You pick the chat. The mobile stored on the visit is a search key, not an automatic recipient. If the number on the visit is the father’s handset, you already know that, because you typed it. The software will not dial. Email is the same restraint: attach the download yourself. There is no queue of messages waiting for night-time delivery, and there is no SMS fallback when WhatsApp is down.

A chamber that wants “your prescription is ready” as a text will not get it by upgrading from Basic at ৳1,000 to Premium at ৳3,000. The file is the feature. The sending is the part you already know how to do on your phone.

Paper and file on the same afternoon

Some patients take paper. Some are already outside. You can print and also make the file. They are the same layout, same seal, same margins for this chamber. Making the file does not cancel the print, and printing does not delete the download. If you later edit the visit, neither the paper in their hand nor the old file changes. You produce a new one. The visit ID is how you find the writing to edit. The chat is only a copy of a moment.

Use one of the two free demo prescriptions to walk the path on your own phone: write, save, create the file, attach it to a chat with yourself. If the seal is clear and the dose is readable, the feature is finished. If the seal has a white box, fix the PNG before you blame the share sheet.

Send it to one person, not to the room

A prescription file is for the patient or the parent who will buy the medicine. It is not a status update and it is not a specimen in a doctors’ group unless you mean to teach from a page with the name removed. softhubd will not post for you, which is the safer default. You still have to aim the share sheet. Glance at the chat name. Fathers and uncles sit next to each other in a contact list. The wrong chat is a privacy mistake the software cannot retract.

If the patient has no smartphone, print. The file is the alternative, not the only door. Email works the same way for someone who asked for a mailbox. None of these paths type the message for you, add an emoji, or follow up the next morning. The page ends when the file exists. The relationship after that is yours.

Aim, then send

Look at the chat name, then attach today’s file, then say which one to follow if an older picture is still in the thread. The software cannot edit their phone. You can still be precise. Print remains the path when there is no phone to send to.
