A file is not a new kind of medicine
Doctors ask what an e-prescription is, and the answers online tend to grow. A barcode. A national system. A pharmacy that receives the order by itself. None of that is required to understand the page in front of a patient in a chamber in Bangladesh. An e-prescription, in the plain sense, is the prescription you already write, kept so it can be opened again and handed over without relying on one sheet of paper surviving the rickshaw ride.
softhubd stays inside that plain sense. You write the visit. You print it on the pad you already use. If the patient leaves before the print, the same laid-out page becomes a JPG or a PDF, and you attach that file yourself. The software does not open WhatsApp. It does not send an email. It does not tell a pharmacy to dispense. Digital prescription software, here, means the writing can leave as a file. It does not mean a second doctor, and it does not mean a queue on a screen.
What prescription writing software actually does
The work is still the visit. Name. Complaint. The medicine you choose. The dose. The advice. Prescription writing software is the page those lines sit on, plus the memory of lines you have already accepted. Two letters can bring a sentence back. A click puts it on the pad. Until the click, the pad is unchanged. That rule is the whole product. A suggestion is yesterday’s sentence, not an order for today.
Search is there so similar names do not blur. The row shows the group, the company, and the price. The price is for your eye while you choose. It stays off the printed page unless that chamber turns it on. The catalogue has about 72,000 rows. If a name is missing, you type it on, and it is kept. A fever of 100 or more can mention a search for Paracetamol. Mentioning is not adding. You still pick the drop, the syrup, or the tablet.
The pad people already trust
Patients and pharmacies in a neighbourhood learn a pad. The colour, the logo, the place where the seal sits. Throwing that away to look “digital” helps nobody at the counter. Upload the PDF or the photo of the paper you print on now. Move the margins in millimetres until the writing clears the letterhead. A signature and a seal can be PNG or JPEG. A clear PNG stays clear. Drag the mark once. The next patient should not make you place it again.
Each chamber can keep its own sheet. The morning clinic and the evening room do not have to share a letterhead. Pick the chamber and that pad opens. This is the part colleagues notice on the first real print, more than any slogan about software.
When the paper cannot leave with them
Some visits end in the corridor. The child is crying. The paper is still in the printer. The page you just wrote can still go, as a JPG or a PDF of that same layout. You choose the chat or the mail, and you choose the person. The mobile number on the visit is for finding them later. It is not printed, and it is not a reason for the software to message them.
Next time, a save has an ID, something like 0042. You open the visit by name, by mobile, or by that ID. You can start from the last prescription and then change the dose, because the child is better or because they are not. The old visit stays. Copying is a head start. It is not an instruction to repeat last month.
What this is not
It is not a diagnosis. It is not a medicine chosen for you. It does not send SMS. It does not run a waiting-room television. It does not settle a fee with the chamber owner. If the internet stops, the chamber work goes on. If a page you are reading promises those things in the same breath as “prescription software”, it is describing a different product. softhubd is the writing, the pad, and the file.
A pharmacy may still want the paper they know. That is their counter, not a setting inside this page. What you can promise a patient is narrower and true: the print matches your pad, and if they have already left, you can hand them the file of that page.
What a month costs, said once
Basic is 500 prescriptions for ৳1,000 and 2 chambers. Standard is ৳2,000 and 5. Premium is ৳3,000 and 10. A monthly pack is one doctor. The name and the degree must match by 70%. Buy 500, use 200, and 300 stays. Buy another 500 and you have 800. The price of buying once is given on the demo. It is not printed on the pad. Domain and hosting are separate from the software price.
The demo is two prescriptions, at no cost, with a live print. The button opens in a new tab. Write a real name, search a medicine you know, and print. If the page does not feel like the visit you already run, you have not bought anything.
Bangla on the dose, English on the bottle
A pharmacist dispenses a name they can read. The brand stays as it is written in the catalogue. The dose is where Bangla earns its place. Morning to night, every few hours, times a day, or drops per minute. Type the dose in Banglish and it becomes Bangla. Choose English and the writing language follows. The same page opens on a phone, a tablet, and a laptop. A small screen still keeps a place for the patient, the medicines, and the pad. You do not install a separate app to write the afternoon’s first visit.
This is the part to try before you talk about price. Write one dose the way you say it to a mother. If the line on the pad is the line you would have written by hand, the software is doing the job. If you need a manual to find the dose field, it is not.
What the report counts
After the visits are saved, a report can show today, this week, this month, and this year. New patients and returning patients are counted apart. You can see which medicines, companies, and tests you write most often. The count follows Dhaka time. It is a picture of the chamber you already ran. It is not a ranking, and it is not a promise that more people will find you. Use it to notice that one syrup has quietly become half the afternoon. Then decide, yourself, whether that is what you meant.
A junior can leave the history before you sit down. Your lines stay on your login. They do not inherit your seal. The next patient still waits for your click before anything new lands on the pad.
What is an e-prescription here?
The prescription you write on the page, printed on your pad, or saved as a JPG or PDF that you attach yourself.
Is digital prescription software the same as sending the medicine to a pharmacy?
No. You make the file. You choose where it goes. The page does not dispense and does not open the chat.
Does the software write the visit?
No. Older lines are suggestions. They sit on the pad only after you click.
Where is the longer page on the software?
The page titled online prescription software is on this site, separate from the blog. The demo is two prescriptions, in a new tab.
